On the unpleasant side, unfortunately, is Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in violation of international law. This Russian-Ukrainian war is causing Europe and Germany to strive for energy self-sufficiency. But this will also accelerate decarbonisation, as this is the best way to become independent of Russian gas as well as oil and coal. In the consumption of diesel and petrol from mineral oil in mobile applications alone, the CO2 emissions from a stock of 250 million cars and light commercial vehicles in Europe amount to 600 million tonnes of CO2 per year. This potential can be divided by 250 million vehicles, i.e. 2.4 tonnes of CO2 emissions per vehicle per year, and then calculated with the CO2 neutral substitute vehicles. Thus, by substituting combustion vehicles for the planned Clean Energy Pack monos for L7e vehicles in 2025, approx. 200,000 t CO2 savings per year are possible and for conversion kits Clean Energy Packs in 2025 CO2 savings of approx. 50,000 t, if the electricity mix is almost 100% green electricity. From 2026 onwards, even more CO2 emissions can be saved here with CEP initial equipment for new vehicles.

With best regards from Berlin
Yours Clean Energy Global Team
